Eddie & The Hotrods

Eddie and the Hotrods gave us this rebellious, pill-fuelled gem. In the You Tube video Eddie (Barrie Masters), rocking a mullet and skin tight white clobber over a stick thin frame, delivers the song with cockney cheek, urgency and wit. Canvey Island sound at it bennied best.

Trivia hounds may like to know that The Sex Pistols played their first ever gig in support of Eddie and The Hot Rods in 1976. Just so you know, there were english punk bands before The Pistols.

This is one of the anthems that I sing under my breath all day long.
